Smoke Vent

The Lane-Aire Smoke Vent provides the utmost in venting capabilities incorporated in a sturdy, low-profile design. As with all Lane-Aire Smoke Vents, the door automatically opens when heat activates the listed fusible link, thus releasing smoke through the roof. This aids fire fighters in locating and more efficiently fighting the fire. The release of smoke also aids in the safe evacuation of building occupants by improving visibility.

Plastic Domed Smoke Vent
The Lane-Aire Domed Smoke Vent is a sound addition to the construction of warehouse and production facilities as it satisfies concerns for fire safety and energy efficiency in one exonomical unit. As with all Lane-Aire Smoke Vents, the door automatically opens when heat activates the listed fusible link, thus releasing smoke through the roof and making fire fighting more effective. At the same time, the Lane-Aire Domed Smoke Vent permits daylight to enter the building through the roof, thereby reducing the need for electric light during daylight hours.

Plastic Domed Smoke Vent With Louvered Sides
The Lane-Aire Domed Smoke Vent with louvered sides incorporates the fire safety and energy efficiency advantages of the Domed Smoke Vent with the added benefit of ventilation — all in one economical unit. The Domed Smoke Vent with louvered sides is manufactured with the same standards of quality as all Lane-Aire Smoke Vents and operates with the same listed fusible link. The sides, however, are constructed of fixed louvers which provide continuous gravity ventilation.

Double Door Smoke Vent
The Lane-Aire Double Door Smoke Vent provides the same venting capabilities and sturdy low-profile design as our Standard Smoke Vent, but is designed to meet large ventilation area requirements not readily accomodated by a single door unit. It is activated by the same listed fusible link as all Lane-Aire Smoke Vents and provides the same benefit in minimizing loss of life and property.

Listed Smoke Vent
The Lane-Aire Listed Smoke Vent is intended for applications where snow load is a consideration or other rigid standards apply. It is designed to meet the rigorous requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. The covers open instantly against a 10 PSF snow or wind load when the hatch is manually released or when heat releases the approved fusible link. The lids will remain in the full open position until manually closed. Hydraulic shock absorbers assure smooth operation and prevent damage to the unit. A manual cover release premits inside operation (outside operation optional) without disturbing the fusible link assembly. The latch automatically resets as covers are closed manually.

 
Heavy Duty Double Door Smoke Vent
This unit was designed as an alternative to our Listed Smoke Vents. This Heavy Duty Double Door Smoke Vent has been tested to meet the most stringent requirements of UBC 15-7. The doors will open against a 10 PSF snow load. The opening force of the doors is controlled by heavy duty shock absorbers to prevent damage. The smoke vents are supplied with a manual inside release and an option for an outside manual release. The manual release allows the doors to be opened for periodic testing without disturbing the fusible link assembly and will be reset for automatic operation when the doors are closed. The smoke vents can be supplied as self-flashing or curb-mounted.
